Overview
Sometimes a clinic needs a small correction or confirmation on a consent form before it can be finalized. When this happens, the form may be sent back to you to review so you can initial or sign the updated section(s) — without starting over.
By the end of this article, you’ll know what this means and what to do next.
Steps
1. Open the most recent DocuSign email
Look for an email from DocuSign with a button or link that says Review Document.
➡️ Tip: If you don’t see it, check spam/junk and search your inbox for “DocuSign”.
2. Review the updated section(s)
DocuSign will guide you to any areas that need attention. You may be asked to:
- Confirm a correction
- Initial an updated field
- Re-sign a section
3. Select “Finish” to submit
When you’re done, select Finish to complete your update. Your form will continue through the remaining signing steps.
4. If you have questions about the consent content, contact your clinic
EngagedMD Support can help with technical issues (access, emails, signing steps), but your clinic is the best resource for questions about:
- What the consent language means
- How to answer medical/treatment-related questions
