What is ID Verification (IDV)?
When a form requires a high level of trust, your clinic will assign forms and add a higher level of authentication to the document, requesting you to verify your identity with government-issued identification before accessing the form.
The ID Verification (IDV) Process
1. Once your clinic assigns you a form with ID Verification (IDV) you will receive an email from noreply@engagedmd.com stating "A new form has been assigned". You will then be able to click the Review & Sign button.
2. If you have not previously set a password for your clinic's EngagedMD portal, you will be asked to set a password.
2. After you set a password and click on Log In you will start the IDV process. Your browser will automatically redirect to the IDV processing webpage.
You will be prompted to provide images of supported identification types.
3. Select the Country or Region that issued the ID and choose between a Password or Photo ID.
4. You will be asked to consent to the collection of your personal information. This consent is required to proceed with ID Verification. You can read through the privacy policies by selecting the blue hyperlinks on this page.
5. On the following screen you have the option to continue the ID Verification process on your mobile device. By continuing on your mobile device you will be able to take a photo of your ID. To continue on your mobile device you can:
- Enter your mobile phone number, this will send you a link via SMS.
- Choose the blue hyperlink to scan a QR code
You also have the option to Upload a file from your desktop instead. If you do not see this option available - your clinic may not have this option enabled for patients.
Upload an ID via Mobile Device
A. It is recommended that a mobile device is used to capture a high-quality picture of the ID. You will first be asked to allow access to your device's camera.
From your mobile device, you will be able to take a photo of the ID and will see the following three screens.
Upload an ID via File Upload
B. You will be asked to upload a photo file of the front and back of your chosen ID.
You can then choose to Redo or Upload the file selected.
Your ID upload will then be processed, this may take a few seconds.
6. Once your ID is verified, the form will automatically unlock in your browser allowing you to review and sign the assigned forms.
Unsuccessful Automatic ID Verification
If your ID upload is unsuccessful (fails) through the automatic ID verification process outlined above then the ID upload may be moved to a manual review process where a staff member from your clinic will have the opportunity to review your ID.
