Clinic with ID Verification (IDV) can customize their IDV settings. If you would like to make a change to your clinic's current IDV configuration you can reach out to your Customer Success Manager or to support@engagedmd.com.
The settings that can be configured are:
Authentication Attempts per Signer
This controls the number of times the patient attempts to authenticate (uploading their ID). The options available are as follows:
- 1-15 attempts per patient
- The default and best practice is two attempts.
When the Signer Authenticates
This controls when and how often the signer needs to authenticate. They are in order of risk, from highest acceptance of risk to the lowest acceptance of risk. We do not have a recommendation, our default is #2. The options available are as follows:
- Once, when the signer first accesses the form
- Every time the signer accesses the form, until the signer role is completed.
- Every time the signer accesses the form, even when the signer role is completed.
Signer Name Variation Tolerance
This controls how strict the clinic wants to be when comparing the name on the ID to the name on the envelope. Our default #1.
The options available are as follows:
- Maximum variation: Allows additional variations of middle names, suffixes, equivalent names and tolerates minor typing mistakes. This is the default selection as it allows for envelopes without middle names to be accepted.
- Moderate variation: Allows additional variations of middle names and suffixes but not equivalent names (“Bob” vs. “Robert”).
- Minimal variation: Allows minor variations of first and last names only.
