There may be times when you might need to swap Patient/Partner in order to make a current patient become the partner and the current partner become the patient. This may be for signing purposes or mistakenly inputting the patient as a partner (or vice versa) when moving patient/partner information to EngagedMD.
Important: If/when swapping patient and partner, no other changes should be made to the record until it’s been saved. At that point, a user can go back in to change the demographic information if needed.
1. Search for the 'Patient'
2. Click on 'Edit Patient'
3. Click on the 'Swap' icon on the top left
4. From the drop-down menu, choose what information you want to Swap. Click on 'Change'
Important: You can choose Full Record but keep in mind that there should not be any outstanding forms prior to making the swap. Any incomplete forms would have to be completed or voided.
If you encounter an error when using the Swap feature, such as a state of 'Submitting' that does not progress - there may be an issue with the patient demographics. The most common error is the phone number format. Make sure to check for phone number format errors and then try again.
